First appointment builds East-West Bridge

Cambridge,UK, 24th October 2007 - Liquavista, the company developing See Everything mobile multi-media displays, today announced that Senior Semiconductor industry executive, former President of Motorola ASIA PACIFIC/JAPAN region and later founding CEO of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, C D Tam MBE, JP, has agreed to join its Board of Directors

"We are delighted to be able to attract someone of Mr Tam's calibre to the Board of Liquavista" said Mark Gostick, CEO. "It reinforces to our team what an exciting and rapidly moving business we are building, and dramatically expands our ability to develop partnerships at the highest level throughout Asia."

Despite being little more than 12 months old, Liquavista is rapidly accelerating toward the mobile devices market. Having shown a prototype watch product at the SID show in June 2007, the company is bringing its new display technology to a wide variety of customer applications through a partnership based approach to manufacturing and development.

"The core philosophy guiding Liquavista's development is that to succeed, we need to develop a serious and substantial presence and partnership network in Asia quickly, because this is the home of the flat panel display business and many of its customers. " Gostick added.

"Having made that decision, we identified Hong Kong as our best destination and have had a presence here since January of this year and are now building our technology base in the region. We want to use the best of East and West to ensure our success and recognised in CD the right experiences and attitude to help guide us in this crucial phase." He concluded.

"The entrepreneurial spirit of Liquavista, its commitment to developing East meets West relationships and the foundation of its office in Hong Kong, shows they have real strategic goals to developing their business" commented CD Tam "Plus, I could not resist the draw of Liquavista's revolutionary technology which is set to change the way we view displays and offer such benefits as outdoor viewability- I can quickly see how this technology can take significant share in the existing LCD marketplace -maybe as much as 50%" he added, "With such inspirational drive - I felt compelled to work with them to help them achieve it!"

"Longer term, I believe Liquavista is the only technology I know of which has the potential to enable fully digital display systems, from source creation, through transmission to end-user viewing. This will enable a revolution, not only in display quality, but also the infrastructure and costs associated with the entire media network." He added.

CD Tam, MBE, JP brings his entrepreneurial spirit and wealth of experience to Liquavista. An industry veteran, he spent 33-years at Motorola, joining in 1968 after graduation from the University of Hong Kong.

CD was the first Asian to lead Motorola Semiconductor Products in Asia Pacific as Group General Manager. During his tenure of General Manager from 1980 to 1996 he was responsible for establishing many manufacturing sites, IC design centres, sales/marketing and product operations in Asia for Motorola Semiconductor.

In 1999, C.D. Tam was promoted to Executive Vice President and President, Asia Pacific region, overseeing corporation management for China, Japan and all Asian countries - Motorola sales in Asia reached US$10 Billion milestone in 2001.

In April 2002, he chose to return to his native Hong Kong and joined Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks as the founding Chief Executive Officer. As a leader in the Hong Kong business community, he was heavily involved in many aspects of industrial, education and technological activities. He has sat on boards and chaired committees of tertiary institutions and various electronics and business associations.

His vision is to combine the Best of East and West in fostering entrepreneur spirit and building innovation technology foundation in Hong Kong.

The Technology

Liquavista has developed and patented an innovative electro-wetting technology for mobile device display screens. This technology has the same range and ability to show videos and full colour images as current LCD screens, while also addressing two main problems inherent in today's displays: poor readability in bright lighting conditions and high power consumption that drains batteries quickly. The opportunity for a new display technology that addresses these problems is huge, with today's global market for mobile displays at EUR16 billion and for LCD displays at over EUR62 billion.

Liquavista's electro-wetting displays (EWDs) are reflective rather than transmissive and so offer the potential for clear viewing in all lighting conditions, from a dimly lit office environment to the bright light of a sunny day, while consuming a tenth of the power of similar sized LCD screens. The company's first product platform - ColorMatch - offers world-beating brightness, with a reflective performance of more than 50% over an unlimited viewing angle. Products for which Liquavista's EWD technology offers real improvements in visibility and power consumption range from watches, mobile phones and digital cameras to ATM screens and large flat panels.
