Record Attendance at BSA 2011 Winter Meeting

Glen Ellyn, IL - Demonstrating once again that the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA) is "the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing to promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors," the association welcomed 14% more attendees from a record number of companies to its 2011 Winter Meeting January 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida.

Traditionally, BSA Winter (and Fall) Meetings offer unprecedented industry networking in a more intimate and informal setting than the association's Annual Convention. A full agenda of committee meetings allows attendees to experience committee work without obligation to join one, to see how participation can influence the direction of the industry, and to learn how committee participation can benefit them personally and improve their company's position in the marketplace. Although increasing numbers of industry leaders have leveraged this advantage of BSA's Fall and Winter Meetings, the January 2011 event enjoyed the registration of more attendees representing more companies than ever before.

In addition to the aforementioned advantages of Winter Meeting attendance, BSA added even more value with a presentation by John Dunlop, Senior Project Engineer with the American Wind Energy Association, who shared important information about the role of bearing products in wind energy. BSA's Information Technology and Supply Chain Committee also enjoyed a presentation on "Apple in Your Business" by Matthew Bookspan of BlackTip IT Services.

BSA distributor members and participating manufacturers will next meet at the association's 2011 Annual Convention, "Growing Together: 45 Years Strong," April 29-May 2 at the Hyatt Lost Pines in Lost Pines (Austin), Texas. To learn more, please visit the convention website, www.bsaconventions.org.

BSA is the "must belong to organization for authorized bearing distributors." An international service and educational organization of distributors representing a total of almost 100 companies distributing factory-warranted ball-, roller-, and anti-friction bearings and invited manufacturers of bearings and related products, the association's mission says, "BSA is the forum to enhance networking and knowledge sharing and promote the sale of bearings through authorized distributors."
