U.S. Deputy Commerce Secretary Bruce Andrews to Deliver Keynote at ANSI's Annual Business Meeting



All Attendees Must Register by September 18



The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is pleased to announce that Bruce Andrews, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s ANSI Annual Business Meeting. The Annual Business Meeting Luncheon will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 30, 2015 at the FHI 360 Conference Center in Washington, DC, as part of the 2015 World Standards Week (WSW) series of events. WSW, scheduled this year on September 28 to October 2, is an annual event where members of the standards and conformity assessment community come together in the spirit of cooperation and collaboration.



Deputy Secretary Andrews was confirmed as the Deputy Secretary of Commerce on July 24, 2014. He has also served as Chief of Staff to the Secretary at the U.S. Department of Commerce, a post he assumed in October 2011. Before joining Commerce, Mr. Andrews served as General Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, where he served as the chief counsel for the Committee and was responsible for policy, legal and jurisdiction issues.



His keynote speech will address how standards and conformance support the digital economy, which is in a constant state of growth.



The meeting will also include presentations from S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO, and Kevan Lawlor, president and CEO of NSF International and chair of the ANSI Board of Directors. They will discuss ANSI’s recent accomplishments and continuing strategic priorities.
