Brewer Science to Present Next-Generation Voice Activation Technology to Revolutionize Security and Safety

Santa Clara, CA – In the near future, Brewer Science will be presenting new technology applications that will enhance speech analysis.  One new technology, a Brewer Science–created speech analysis system that tracks unique humidity fluctuations in the human voice, will be presented at Printed Electronics USA 2014, November 19 through 20.

Printed Electronics USA 2014 is the world's largest event for printed, organic, and flexible electronics, and Brewer Science will be showcasing its newest printed electronic sensor device technologies.

Brewer Science will provide a demonstration of its TH1022A101 transducer.  One application for this technology is in the area of security.  Audio voice recognition has limited use because a recording can precisely duplicate audio.  Currently, there is no way to artificially simulate the humidity fluctuations associated with human speech; therefore, the combination of the humidity signal and the audio signal is unique to each person and cannot be easily forged.

Dr. Ryan Giedd, Director, Device Engineering Product Development, will present "Ultrafast Humidity Sensor Device for Speech Analysis" on November 19.  "Brewer Science has developed an ultrafast, flexible humidity transducer based on printed electronics technologies which is capable of sensing breathing during speech," says Dr. Giedd.  "The new device is over an order of magnitude faster in detecting water vapor than commercially available humidity sensors, representing a paradigm shift for this technology."

"The Brewer Science sensor platform builds on our experience and ongoing commitment to develop leading-edge technology," said Dr. Terry Brewer, founder and president of Brewer Science.  "Brewer Science has a history of developing leading technology that enables the world's leading microdevice creation, and we are pleased to demonstrate our newest technologies at Printed Electronics USA 2014.  Our industry must deliver devices that are smaller, more responsive, and energy efficient."

Brewer Science continues to make significant advances in identifying new materials and processes that enhance microelectronic devices, enabling them to become more powerful, faster, and smaller.
