Brad Casper Appointed to Board of Trustees for Sustainability

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 23, 2009 -- Brad Casper, President and Chief Executive Officer of Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for Sustainability at Arizona State University (ASU). As a Trustee, Casper will be involved in advising and guiding the activities of the Global Institute for Sustainability (GIOS) at ASU.

Casper will join the Trustees in providing strategic advice on the role of ASU in the world of sustainability, connecting ASU to premier organizations, institutions and businesses engaged in sustainability, and overseeing the development of resources necessary to accomplish the organization's mission and purpose.

"I am honored to be appointed to the Board of Trustees for Sustainability," Casper said. "Henkel has a longstanding commitment to sustainability, and we have worked closely with ASU on sustainability issues during the past several years. In March 2009, we were pleased to host the first Sustainability Consortium with ASU, and I look forward to continuing our productive partnership."

The mission of GIOS at ASU is to be a leader in the global movement to address the enduring challenges of sustainability: promoting human prosperity and well-being for all, while protecting the earth's life support systems. By extending the academic tradition and working with partners, GIOS discovers solutions and implements practices that will help people drive the transition to a sustainable world.

Casper has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Henkel Consumer Goods since April 2005. He oversees business operations of some of America's most trusted consumer products, including Dial® soaps and body washes, Purex® laundry detergents, Renuzit® air fresheners, and Right Guard® antiperspirants.

In addition to serving on several industry boards, Casper is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL), a Board Member of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), and a Board Fellow at Thunderbird School of Global Management. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation (SUSDF).
