BorgWarner Supplies 2-Speed All-Wheel Drive Transfer Cases for Foton Motor's Sauvana SUV

Built in Beijing, BorgWarner's All-wheel Drive Technology Delivers Improved Traction, Stability and Vehicle Dynamics

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - BorgWarner produces 2-speed Torque-On-Demand® transfer cases for the recently launched Foton Motor's Sauvana SUV. BorgWarner's Torque-On-Demand technology automatically redistributes torque from the rear wheels to the front wheels without driver intervention for improved traction, increased stability and enhanced dynamics.

"Drivers will appreciate the seamless control of BorgWarner's Torque-On-Demand technology. Without flipping a switch or turning a dial, the system automatically delivers the traction needed for nearly any road or weather condition," said Dr. Stefan Demmerle, President and General Manager, BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems. "BorgWarner is pleased to provide localized manufacturing for Foton Motors, supplying this advanced technology from our facility in Beijing."

BorgWarner's Torque-On-Demand technology works directly with the vehicle's control systems. Monitoring signals such as steering wheel angle, accelerator pedal position and wheel speed, the vehicle's control systems command the transfer case to deliver the required amount of torque to the front and rear axles. To enhance performance and fuel efficiency, the aluminum housing reduces total vehicle weight. The all-wheel drive transfer case is also equipped with BorgWarner's HY-VO® transfer case chain, optimized for high-efficiency and durable performance.
