Bishop-Wisecarver Appoints Ray Harrington VP, Business Development

Industry Veteran to Lead Company Growth Strategy

Pittsburg, CA - - June 15, 2006 - - Today, Bishop-Wisecarver Corporation announced it has appointed Ray Harrington, 30 year veteran in the Power Transmission industry, VP of Business Development. Harrington has held numerous management and executive positions within the industry, focusing on planning and implementing change, as well as new market development in various organizations.

Harrington's most recent roles include VP, Marketing and Sales for Ruland Manufacturing Company, and President and COO of Pacific Bearing Company, which was previously a client of his successful consulting practice based in Toronto, Canada. Under Harrington's leadership, Pacific Bearing's sales multiplied, and they established a worldwide presence in the market. Bishop-Wisecarver retained Harrington as a consultant in 2003, and he joined BWC's Board of Directors in 2004.

"I am delighted to have joined the Bishop-Wisecarver team," says Harrington. "In the last few years I have been impressed by the vision, direction and energy that Pamela Kan has installed in the company. They have a great future and I look forward to making my contribution to their success."

Harrington's distinguished career began with a key management role in a Liverpool, UK, startup, that successfully built a 1500 person plant business in under 12 months, after which he joined RHP, the UK's largest bearing company. Early key accomplishments at RHP included reducing Work-in-Process, increasing productivity, and management of programs of rationalization and standardization across five manufacturing plants. As part of this process, he implemented a co-operative alliance strategy for bearing companies across Europe, which developed multi-million dollar returns for each of the partners.

RHP later appointed Harrington to a turn-around assignment in Toronto, Canada, as VP of the Central Region. Under his strategic direction, sales increased in both OEM and distributor markets. Newark Electronics, a major US electronic components distributor, then appointed Harrington to lead their expansion into Canada, where he established a seven-branch organization before being transferred to Chicago, as VP, Western Sector. In this capacity, he led a 120-million dollar, 40-branch operation. He then joined Cookson America as general manager of their KMC division, before starting his consulting company for transmission manufacturers and distributors.

"Ray's industry expertise and proven ability to 'make things happen' introduce infinite possibilities," says Pamela Kan, President of Bishop-Wisecarver. "We are fortunate to have a professional of his caliber on our team."

Harrington graduated from Brunel University in London, where he qualified as a metallurgist. He has been active in the Power Transmission Distributor Association (PTDA), and the Bearing Specialists Association (BSA). He has served as PTDA chair of the Human Resources Committee and the Annual Summit Planning Committee.
