WASHINGTON, D.C. (Thursday, January 22, 2009) - The Honorable James C. Greenwood, president and CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), joins the line up of speakers for CED's 18th annual Biotech conference happening February 16 and 17 at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C. Greenwood will provide featured remarks at the gala dinner, February 16 at 6:30 p.m., on what BIO feels is the potential impact of the new political landscape and what biotech companies should do to prepare for the change. He will be introduced by James B. Hunt, Jr., former Governor of North Carolina and known as the 'father' of biotechnology in the state.
"I am honored to be speaking at this year's CED Biotech Conference," remarked Greenwood. "The biotech innovation coming out of North Carolina and the Southeast corridor demonstrates how biotechnology is best poised to provide answers to the many challenges facing the incoming administration and Congress. Hosted by the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, in partnership with NCBIO and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center, the conference includes world-class speakers, a variety of panels focusing on the nation's administration, life science and healthcare policy, and networking opportunities with life science leaders.
