BIO Announces Business Forum Program for the 2009 BIO International Convention



WASHINGTON, D.C. (Thursday, April 16, 2009) - The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) today announced the companies confirmed to present at the 2009 BIO International Convention's Business Forum. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in partnering meetings, executive training workshops, and a full program of sessions geared toward life science professionals. The global event for biotechnology will take place May 18-21, 2009 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

"The BIO Business Forum is the world's largest life sciences partnering event. It offers an unparalleled opportunity for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, academic research institutions, and investors from around the world to gather in one place, meet one-on-one, and discuss business opportunities," said Alan Eisenberg, executive vice president, Emerging Companies and Business Development, BIO. "In today's financial market, it is critical for companies to efficiently identify partners, investors and licensing opportunities not available at other industry partnering events."

More than 180 companies have been confirmed to make partnering-oriented presentations at the Business Forum - the world's largest life sciences partnering event. Participants in the Business Forum will also have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one partnering meetings utilizing BIO One-on-One Partnering® - BIO's new, state-of-the-art partnering system, an interactive environment that allows attendees to intelligently search, contact and schedule private meetings with potential partners and investors at BIO's meetings.     Each year, the BIO International Convention draws industry leaders from approximately 48 states and 60 countries. This year, the Convention program will feature more than 170 sessions in 22 breakout session tracks.
