Bernard to Showcase Heavy-Duty MIG and Flux-Cored Welding Products at 2008 FABTECH International/AWS Welding Show

BEECHER, Ill. July 22, 2008Demonstrating that durability and comfort are not mutually exclusive features in welding equipment, Bernard will showcase several new heavy-duty MIG and flux-cored welding products at the 2008 FABTECH International/AWS Welding Show in Las Vegas, October 6 8. Located in booth 13083, Bernard will have on-hand its new HD Q and S Series MIG guns, Heavy-Duty and Gasless Centerfire consumables and a new neck grip.

HD Q-Gun and S-Gun

Designed for high deposition welding, Bernards new HD Q- and S-Guns feature an extremely durable and heat resistant handle with a rubberized grip for excellent maneuverability. It also features an armor-protected locking trigger with an optional dual-schedule switch.

Involving high current loads over long, continuous joints, high deposition welding can quickly build up enough heat to cause significant long-term damage to standard MIG guns. Bernards HD Q- and S-Guns are designed for just this type of environment, featuring Stay-Tite technology that incorporates long-lasting compression fittings and large, tapered neck-to-handle connections that ensure the gun runs cool and delivers a consistent electrical current to the weld pool.

The armor-protected locking trigger further increases the guns robustness while also reducing operator fatigue.

Heavy-Duty Centerfire Consumables

Featuring a removable nozzle cone, heat resistant insulating materials and thicker nozzle walls, Bernards Heavy-Duty Centerfire consumables withstand degradation at 400-600 amps.

The removable nozzle cone reduces welding costs and increases productivity by allowing operators to replace only the cone, the most frequently damaged part of the nozzle. It also makes cleaning easier by allowing greater access to the nozzle body for spatter removal.

Heavy-Duty Centerfire consumables are well suited to shipbuilding, trailer fabrication, heavy manufacturing and other applications that use mixed gases, spray transfer processes or thick sections of aluminum.

Gasless Centerfire Components

Designed to increase productivity as well as visibility and joint access for companies that regularly switch between MIG and self-shielded flux-cored applications, Bernard offers Gasless Centerfire components. To install the gasless components, operators simply remove the MIG nozzle and replace it with a tip holder and insulator, which allow the contact tip to be exposed for maximum arc visibility.

Both the Gasless and Heavy-Duty components use standard Centerfire diffusers and contact tips allowing companies to weld at higher amperages or with self-shielded wire without having to replace their entire welding consumable inventory. Both products can be used with any major brand of MIG gun through the use of Bernard conversion parts.

Neck Grip

Designed for welders who steady their welding gun by resting the neck on their hand or arm, Bernards new neck grip is a high-temperature rubber sleeve that fits over the neck and provides the operator with improved accuracy and reduced heat exposure. These features can improve overall weld quality and reduce operator fatigue.

In addition to these new product offerings, Bernard will also showcase its ever-popular standard Q- and S-Guns as well as their recent entry into the self-shielded flux-cored market, the Dura-Flux.
