Berkopec Named Director, Strategic Business Development

RICHMOND, Va. -- Chesapeake Corporation (NYSE: CSK) today announced that Brian S. Berkopec has been named director, strategic business development. His responsibilities include facilitating business development opportunities for all of Chesapeake's operating units, managing the annual strategy review process, analyzing Chesapeake's current and potential markets, and making recommendations on strategic opportunities for the corporation.
Berkopec worked with Chesapeake from 1995 to 1999, most recently as director of strategy for European operations. Since that time Brian held various positions with VIA NET.WORKS Inc. in Paris and Amsterdam, lastly as regional vice president Europe responsible for the company's largest business unit where he directed business in the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, France, and Germany. He has held various business development roles at Morgan Stanley, Chesapeake Corporation and VIA NET.WORKS Inc.
He received a bachelor's degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and a master's degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. Berkopec currently serves as a trustee at Macalester College and serves as chair of the academic affairs committee.
