Bayer MaterialScience Brochure Highlights Properties, Benefits of Two-Component Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings for Flooring

PITTSBURGH, April 30, 2007 - Now available from Bayer MaterialScience LLC (BMS) is a new brochure that offers an overview of the company's commercial two-component waterborne (2K WB) polyurethane high-performance coatings for flooring. The two coatings, Bayhydur® technologies and Bayhydrol® resins are explained in both technical and practical detail.

The brochure, Two-Component Waterborne Polyurethane High Performance Coatings for Flooring, is filled with technical data and key benefits of the 2K WB system. Polyurethane topcoats, as they are commonly referred to, are used in the construction industry over functional floor coatings or as sealers for concrete. The benefits of these 2K WB topcoat systems are that they are odorless, UV light stable, abrasion resistant, non-yellowing, chemical resistant and hot tire resistant. The coatings also offer high or low gloss with ultra-low VOCs.

"In response to the need for ambient temperature curing coatings with low solvent emission levels, Bayer has developed two-component waterborne polyurethane coatings with properties similar to those of two-component solventborne polyurethane coatings," said Kathy Allen, scientist, BMS LLC. "This brochure is an excellent guide that showcases our waterborne coatings line, but also educates users on how environmentally safe and compliant these products are for the construction industry."
