Barry-Wehmiller Promotes Brian Wellinghoff to Director, L3 Journey

ST. LOUIS - July 30, 2007 - Rhonda Spencer, Director of Organizational Empowerment at
Barry-Wehmiller Companies, Inc., has announced the promotion of Brian Wellinghoff to Director, L3 Journey. Also known as a "Living Legacy of Leadership," this unique leadership model is designed to bring Lean Enterprise thinking in alignment with
Barry-Wehmiller's "Guiding Principles of Leadership" to empower its associates to achieve greater success and fulfillment in their roles, which the company believes is
essential to the creation of a challenging, rewarding and sustainable future for the 120-year-old business.

"In this role, Brian will help us gain a richer understanding of our vision for continuous improvement and the importance of leveraging our ideas and experiences throughout the organization to foster an environment that allows us to live our Guiding Principles to the fullest," Spencer explained. Wellinghoff will collaborate with Barry-Wehmiller Chairman & CEO Bob Chapman and Lean specialist Dick Ryan (formerly of The Wiremold Company), as well as thought leaders outside the organization, to remain on the pulse of Lean practices that share the company's commitment to bringing a "people focus" to traditional Lean philosophies.

"I've been very pleased to see how our initial conversations about this journey have become a true vision for us and how that vision is beginning to become a reality for our organization," Wellinghoff said. "Our L3 Journey will not only create the opportunity for Barry-Wehmiller to meet the challenges of our markets more effectively, but it will provide an enriching environment for our team members to use their many talents, and I'm proud to be an agent in that process."

Wellinghoff will also work with the leadership teams at each of Barry-Wehmiller's 11 divisions to lead L3 kick-off presentations, organize benchmarking trips to successful Lean organizations, and enlist support from its sister divisions. He will continue to work with a defined L3 Team made up of 30 people from across the company to help define team goals and priorities, provide information and educational opportunities, and serve as a facilitator for the team as they champion the L3 Journey on a local level.
