B&D Industrial Vice President Honored with Industry Award
Serving as a company leader for over 40 years, Linda Miller is honored by the Power Transmission Distributors Association for her accomplishments
Macon, GA (November 9, 2016) – Linda Miller, long-time B&D Industrial Vice President, recently received the Wendy B. McDonald Award at the Power Transmission Distributors Association Industry Summit in San Diego, CA. The Wendi B. McDonald Award honors women who have established themselves as critical contributors to their company’s success while affecting positive change within the transmission/motion control industry.
Linda Miller started her career at B&D Industrial, then called Bearings and Drives, as a clerk and typist in 1975. In 1982, with the new emergence of computers in the workplace, Miller took a keen interest in computers and after completing courses at the IBM education center, she was promoted to manager of information technology and subsequently continued climbing the company ladder. Through the years, the company has experienced tremendous growth and her increasing contributions advanced her to executive roles including her previous position as vice president of human resources and safety. Today, B&D Industrial is a multi-divisional company with numerous locations throughout the Southeast where Miller serves as the vice president of information technology.
Miller maintains strong industry involvement while working on various committees within the Bearing Specialists Association. She has served on the board of directors and as president in 2012 and 2013.

In her acceptance speech, Miller thanked many people in her life and said, “I do love this industry. Without the people in this room, the world would not exist as we know it today. In my book, that’s pretty heavy, so I want to say thank to each and every one of you for contributing to the lifestyle we’ve come to enjoy.”
