ATTABOX Achieves IP66 Certification

San Antonio, Texas - Attabox, a Texas manufacturer of non-metallic industrial enclosures, achieved IP66 certification on December 13, 2010. This will add to the current UL/cUL 50e, type 3R, 4, 4X, and 12 certification.

An IP66 rating means the enclosure provides effective protection from dust penetration and leakage from high pressure water jets or heavy seas.

IP (Ingress Protection) ratings are standards for electrical enclosures as described by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The IEC is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The objective of the standard is to classify degrees of protection of electrical equipment.

Bill Evatt, president, said "This new certification will provide customers the added assurance that our enclosures provide effective protection from harsh environments. We believe the Attabox enclosures will become the enclosure of choice, as the performance and price point is the best in the market today."
