Atlas Adds New Site to Worldwide Outdoor Weathering Testing Network
New facility near Chennai provides tropical climate testing environment.
Chennai, India/April 2007 - Atlas Weathering Services Group, a division of Atlas Material Testing Technology, is pleased to announce the addition of a new Worldwide Exposure Network site in the southeast region of India. Located near Chennai, the new site will be the first official outdoor exposure site in India and is characterized by a tropical climate with high levels of sunlight, humidity and temperature. This site will provide valuable test data for many industries, including: automotive exterior and interior; architectural and building products; consumer durable goods; and lightfastness of textiles.
The new site will become a new benchmark climate for the Indian market. However, the aggressive climate with long periods of hot, humid weather and an average temperature of 29 °C, will also be a tremendous value for manufacturers from outside of India.
The new site will be formally opened in August 2007. Full climatic data will be available shortly.
