Air Transport Association Statement Regarding DOT Industry Safety Review



WASHINGTON, June 9, 2009 - The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, today issued the following statement regarding the announcement by Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Ray LaHood and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Randy Babbitt of an industry "call to action" to address airline safety and pilot training:

"ATA fully supports the DOT 'call to action' and we commend Secretary LaHood and Administrator Babbitt on taking this important step," said ATA President and CEO James C. May.
