ASTM International Workshop on Progress in Creep-Fatigue Test Methods and Models

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., 15 July 2009 - A workshop on Progress in Creep-Fatigue Test Methods and Models will be held Nov. 11, 2009, at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Atlanta, Ga. Sponsored by ASTM Committee E08 on Fatigue and Fracture and its Subcommittees E08.05 on Cyclic Deformation and Fatigue Crack Formation and E08.06 on Crack Growth Behavior, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the Nov. 9-12 standards development meetings of the committee.
The workshop will address progress in creep-fatigue crack formation and crack growth for high temperature materials and structures. Presentations on related research are sought to enable exchange of information and ideas to assist the development of two ASTM standards on creep-fatigue crack formation and creep-fatigue crack growth.
Presentations on recent developments in test equipment, experimental techniques, models for representing the data and applications of the data are sought. Topic wills include crack formation and crack growth, test methods, displacement measurements at elevated temperatures, crack length monitoring, data acquisition, round-robin test plan and precision and bias in creep-fatigue testing.

Online registration opens approximately eight weeks before the workshop and closes Nov. 4. The fee to attend the workshop for ASTM members and non-members is $50 for online registration and $75 for on-site registration. There is no fee for presenters and students with a valid I.D.
