ASTM International’s Water Committee Presents Top Annual Award to William C. Lipps

ASTM International’s committee on water (D19) presented its top annual award – the Award of Merit – to William C. Lipps, environmental/geochemical marketing manager, at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc., Columbia, Maryland, USA. The prestigious award, which includes the accompanying title of fellow, is ASTM’s highest recognition for individual contributions to developing standards.

The committee honored Lipps for his exceptional dedication to preparing standards that are related to the study of water. Lipps, an ASTM International member since 1986, is the first vice-chairman of committee D19. He has previously won the Standards Development Award (2010 and 2015), presented by committee D19.

In addition to ASTM, Lipps is a member of the Society for Mining Metallurgy and Exploration Environmental Division, American Water Works Association, Water Environment Federation, The Nelac Institute, International Standards Organization, and is the Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Wastewater Part 4000 Coordinator.
