July 28, 2010 - Presentations are invited for 2011 ASTM International Johnson Conference titled, The On-Going Asbestos Debate: What We're Learning after a Quarter Century of Johnson Conferences. Presentations are solicited on, but not limited to: medical research, dose/response, toxicology; sampling, exposure assessment, and risk characterization; environmental monitoring and remediation; international and domestic analytical methods; litigation and science; and asbestos analysis and quality assurance.

Presentations are Invited for the 2011 ASTM International Johnson Conference on the On-Going Asbestos Debate

Sampling, exposure assessment and risk characterization;
Environmental monitoring and remediation;
International and domestic analytical methods;
Soils, natural occurrences of asbestos and vermiculite products;
Litigation and science;
Asbestos analysis and quality assurance;
Mineralogy and nomenclature; and
Definitions workshop. To submit a presentation, presenters/authors must submit a 200-300 word preliminary abstract by Oct. 16, 2010, via e-mail to Larry Pierce at firstname.lastname@example.org. The abstract should include a clear definition of the objective and approach of the work discussed, pointing out material that is new, and present sufficient details regarding results. The presentation must not be of a commercial nature nor can it have been previously published. The conference co-chairs will notify you by Nov. 16, 2010, of your paper's acceptability for presentation. If the preliminary abstract is accepted, the presenter/author will be requested to submit a final abstract several months before the symposium, and the final abstracts will be distributed in an abstract booklet at the conference. A preliminary technical program (presentation times, paper titles and presenters' names) will be posted on the ASTM website in January 2011.
