ASTM Committee honors Dipak J. Negandhi with Award of Merit.

ASTM Food Service Equipment Committee Honors Dipak J. Negandhi with Award of Merit



Dipak J. Negandhi, P.E., senior engineering manager at Manitowoc Foodservice, Ovens Design Center, in Cleveland, Ohio, has received the ASTM International Award of Merit from Committee F26 on Food Service Equipment.



ASTM’s highest organizational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities, the Award of Merit includes the accompanying title of fellow. Committee F26 noted Negandhi’s outstanding leadership, commitment and respected technical expertise.



An ASTM member since1991, Negandhi served as chairman of Committee F26 from 2006 to 2012. During his tenure, he oversaw and contributed to the development of multiple new industry standards for the food equipment industry. Several of those standards now serve as the foundation for utility-based energy-efficiency programs, including voluntary programs such as the U.S. EPA Energy Star Program and the Consortium for Energy Efficiency program specifications.



Negandhi specializes in new product design and development of commercial and residential appliances with an emphasis on customer specifications, reliability and innovative solutions. A named inventor on several patents, he has worked at various food service equipment manufacturers during his career, including Royal Vendors Inc., Unified Brands and Roper Corp. Negandhi assumed his role at Manitowoc Foodservice in 2013.



A graduate of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India, where he received a B.S. in mechanical engineering, Negandhi also holds an M.S. in mechanical engineering from Ohio University and an MBA from Ball State University. He is a member of the American Society of Gas Engineers, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in addition to ASTM.
