ASME Presents Seven Awards for Achievement in Petroleum Engineering



Recognition Program Held at Offshore Technology Conference



NEW YORK – ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) has presented seven awards recognizing technical achievement and distinguished service in the field of petroleum engineering.



Blake DeBerry of Dril-Quip received the 2015 Geoca Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award during a ceremony held recently at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston.



The Society also bestowed the 2015 Arthur Lubinski Award recognizing the best technical paper delivered during ASME-sponsored technical sessions at OTC.  Jim Kaculi was presented the honor for the paper Next Generation HPHT Subsea Wellhead Systems Design Challenges And Opportunities.



The company Versabar won the 32nd Annual Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Award (BMEA) for its product, VERSACUTTER.  Three BMEA Awards of Merit were presented to FMC Technologies for Reactive Flex Joint, Halliburton for Tier 4F Halliburton Q10™ Pumping Unit, and SBM Offshore for Articulated Rod Connecting Arm (ARCA).



ASME presented the OTC Innovation Award to Baker Hughes, Inc. for Hammerhead® Ultra-deepwater Integrated Completion and Production System.



The 2015 awards program was sponsored by the ASME Petroleum Division, which provides technical programming, networking events, continuing education and other services to engineers and other technical professionals in the oil and gas and related industries.
