ASC Welcomes New President William Allmond

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) announced that William Allmond has been appointed by its Board of Directors as President, effective August 15, 2016. Allmond brings to ASC over 23 years of experience in association management and strategic operations.

Bill joins ASC from the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA), where he worked for the past 10 years as the Vice President, Government and Public Relations. In that role he transitioned and upgraded the association's government relations from a low key advocate on legislative issues into one that effectively led key policy priorities through increased staff and member company engagement strategies. He launched SOCMA’s grassroots program, SOCMA CONNECT, significantly increasing member engagement in letter-writing campaigns and Congressional facility visits. In addition to his experience in government and public relations, Allmond also developed and led programs and services that increased member engagement and value propositions.

“Bill brings a high level of energy, a strong background and experience in regulatory matters, and innovative thinking and creativity which will help us in driving the continuation of our long term strategic plan with the goal to grow the adhesives and sealants industry and provide more value to our members,” said ASC Chairman Traci Jensen of H.B. Fuller Company.

Allmond will fill the opening created when former president Matt Croson joined the American Gear Manufacturers Association in June of 2016. At ASC, Bill will be responsible for the overall performance and financial health of the Council. He is also tasked with developing programs designed to grow the industry and enhance strategic partnerships and alliances, both within the industry and among key stakeholder groups that influence the industry.

“I am very excited to join and serve the Adhesive and Sealant Council and delivering value to both our members and the industries we support,” said Bill Allmond about his upcoming ASC presidency. “I am impressed with the Council’s history of success and latest strategic plan. I am excited about the opportunity to play a role in continuing to grow the industry, support ASC’s educational initiatives and enhance networking opportunities for all industry stakeholders.”

Prior to SOCMA, Allmond worked for National Association of Chemical Distributors as the director of regulatory & public affairs. At both firms he specialized in public relations and government regulatory advocacy programs.

Allmond graduated from George Mason University. He is a member of the Association of Government Relations Professionals and Ohio Chemistry and Technology council as well as serving as a board member of the Chemical Industry Council of California.
