ASC Board Elects New Chair, Treasurer, Adds Board Member

H.B. Fuller’s Jensen Assumes Chair Position Following Johnston’s Resignation

Bethesda, MD – The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) announces Traci Jensen, Senior Vice President, Americas at H.B. Fuller will serve as its Chair beginning June 22, 2015.  She will replace current Chair Andy Johnston, who has taken a new role within Ashland as its Group Vice President, Performance Materials.  Jensen will serve the remainder of Johnston’s term, through December 31, 2016.

In addition, Charles Williams, Technical Director at Avery Dennison, will serve as the Council’s Treasurer, filling the remainder of Jensen’s current term in the position, through December 31, 2016. Both leaders were elected to these officer positions by the Board of Directors in a special electronic vote following the resignation of Johnston.

“A sign of a healthy, resilient, volunteer managed organization is that solid, dependable leaders are available and ready to step up and lead when called upon after unexpected changes and we have this in both Traci and Chuck,” notes Matthew E. Croson, President of ASC.  “Traci has been recognized for her ongoing leadership guiding the Long Range Plan development, while Chuck has been seen as a leader in focusing the Council on technical oriented programs and services.  While we will miss Andy’s leadership and stewardship – and we wish him the very best in his new role within Ashland – it’s also good to know that ASC will continue in good hands at the Chair and Treasurer role for the foreseeable future.”

As Officers of ASC, these leaders guide both the Board of Directors and Executive Committee focus areas, and counsel the President on prioritization and agenda setting for the volunteer leadership.  They also serve on the Board’s audit committee, compensation committee and executive committee.

NEW BOARD MEMBER ADDED

In addition to the changes at the officer level, the Board also approved adding Tom Stewart, Commercial Director, Structural Adhesives at Ashland, Inc., as a Director, serving the remainder of Andy Johnston’s Board seat, through December 31, 2017.

“ASC is focused on growth, adding value via new programming, and leveraging its Reserves to the benefit of its members and I look forward to working with these leaders to ensure we deliver value to the leading, innovative companies that are active within the Council,” adds Croson.
