ASABE has initiated a project to revise one of its standards for rear-mounted power take-off on agricultural tractors. ANSI/ASABE AD500-1:2004 W/Cor. 1 DEC2010 is an adoption, with deviations, of international standard ISO 500-1:2004, and was approved as ASABE standard in Dec 2010. An error was found in the Forward section, in which deviations from ISO document are listed. PTO output speed of 1000r/min shaft was incorrectly stated as 100r/min shaft.

ASABE to Revise Rear-Mounted PTO Standard
ST JOSEPH, MICHIGAN- The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has initiated a project to revise one of its standards for rear-mounted power take-off on agricultural tractors.
ANSI/ASABE AD500-1:2004 W/Cor. 1 DEC2010, Agricultural tractor - Rear-mounted power take-off types 1, 2 and 3 - Part 1: General specifications, safety requirements, dimensions for master shield and clearance zone, is an adoption, with deviations, of the identically titled international standard, ISO 500-1:2004, and was approved as an ASABE standard in December 2010. An error was found in the Forward section of the standard, in which deviations from the ISO document are listed. PTO output speed of 1000r/min shaft was incorrectly stated as 100r/min shaft.
