ArvinMeritor Demonstrates Commitment to Expand Its Brake Leadership Position in China with New Plant and Technical Center


HANNOVER, Germany,Sept. 20 - ArvinMeritor, Inc. (NYSE: ARM) reiterated its commitment to bring leading-edge brake technology to the China market at the 63rd IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hannover.

The company recently announced plans to invest $15 million to expand its capabilities in Nanjing, located in the Jiangsu Province, with both a technical center and manufacturing facility. This move is part of ArvinMeritor's strategy to deploy its capabilities to support Chinese truck and bus makers throughout the vehicle lifecycle. The company's localization plan defines four core elements:

o Products designed for local requirements

o In-market engineering and testing capabilities

o Local manufacturing and supply chain management

o Customer service and support
