Aquatech Awarded Water Treatment Contract For Kansas City Power & Light


CANONSBURG, PA, May 2007 - Aquatech International Corporation has recently been awarded a contract by Kansas City Power & Light (KCPL), located in Kansas City, MO, for their Iatan Generating Station Unit 2. Burns & McDonnell, of Kansas City, are the owner's engineers on the project. The contract includes supply of Mechanical Vapor Compressor-Driven Evaporators to treat Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) scrubber blowdown wastewater.

The treatment scheme consists of a 60 gpm Pretreatment Clarifier followed by 2 x 30 gpm Brine Concentrators.

On this contract, Aquatech International is responsible for complete design engineering, material sourcing, fabrication and manufacturing, testing, commissioning and start-up supervision of the wastewater treatment unit.
