AORN: Cost Effective and Safer Bio-Waste Solutions from Multisorb

Buffalo, New York - Multisorb Technologies will highlight its medical spill and liquid containment solutions at the AORN Surgical Conference Expo in Anaheim, California, April 3 - 6, 2016. Multisorb will feature its SaniSorb® medical liquid solidifiers and DriMop® liquid absorbers.

"Patient safety, cost and ease of use are important considerations when selecting a solution for bio-hazardous waste containment in a hospital, ER, or OR surgical environment," said Russ D'Anna, Business Development Leader - Logistics and Industrial Packaging. "Multisorb's SaniSorb medical liquid solidifier meets these requirements by offering a cost-effective, safe and easy-to-use alternative for waste disposal in a medical facility."

By quickly congealing bio-hazardous waste in suction canisters, SaniSorb reduces OR staff exposure and supports patient safety during surgical procedures. The dissolvable packets simply are dropped into the suction canister or bio-fluid waste container, which helps eliminate spills, splashes, and the threat of cross-contamination.

Manufactured in the United States, SaniSorb is available in pre-measured packet sizes (5 gram, 7.5 gram and 15 gram) making it compatible for use with all size systems including negative pressure wound care systems, sharps containers, and in various size suction canister units. SaniSorb can be used to meet the requirements of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Hazardous Materials Regulations for absorbent material use in stored and transported medical waste.

Multisorb will also feature its super absorbent DriMop liquid absorber, the ideal solution for the shipping, storing, and handling of aqueous solutions. Available in self-bursting pouches and absorbent sheets, DriMop can be used in medical shipping containers and bio-specimen transport bags for vials, test kits, and lab trays.
