Anuva Manufacturing and ORCA Forge Partnership to Protect Environment and Spur Jobs in Florida

West Melbourne, FL. – Anuva Manufacturing Services, the manufacturing arm of Anuva's "design to distribution" family of businesses, has formed a strategic partnership with the Ocean Research Conservation Association (ORCA) to manufacture and supply an important part of ORCA's Kilroy™ system.

The ORCA Kilroy™ is a water quality monitoring system being used to assess the health of the Indian River Lagoon. In combination with ORCA's Fast Assessment of Sediment Toxicity (FAST™) – a method to assess relative toxicity of sediment samples using broad-spectrum toxicity tests – ORCA Kilroy™ is a low-cost marine ecosystem monitoring network. Kilroy uses special sensors to continuously measure an array of water quality parameters and stream that data via cellular signals and web-based interfaces 24 hours per day. With parts manufactured by Anuva, this technology will provide data, enabling conservation managers with the critical information they need to achieve their mission of healthy coastal environments.

"By combining innovative technology and applied science, ORCA is leading the way in the protection and conservation of Florida's valuable coast, estuaries, and oceans – saving these precious habitats for the generations of tomorrow," says internationally recognized deep-sea explorer and ORCA Founder Edie Widder, Ph.D.

The Anuva-ORCA partnership is helping to grow jobs for both organizations throughout the Sunshine State supporting a healthy economy for Florida.

"Anuva has been steadily growing to 55 employees," says Vinu Patel, CEO of Anuva Manufacturing. "And strategic relationships with ORCA and other innovative organizations will help us continue to grow and create even more jobs here. Bring on impossible!"

Anuva's mission is to provide a total solution for clients, while employing domestically and making a global contribution.

About ORCA

In 2005, Edie Widder, Ph.D.co-founded the Ocean Research Conservation Association (ORCA) in Fort Pierce, Florida, with a focus on developing innovative technologies to protect and restore our aquatic ecosystems and the species they sustain. Housed in the historic Coast Guard station in Fort Pierce, Florida, ORCA's main campus is home to ORCA's corporate offices, the ORCA FAST™ and Sentinel offices and laboratory. ORCA's engineering facilities are located in Satellite Beach, Florida. Since its inception, Dr. Widder and the ORCA team of engineers, research scientists and marine biologists have achieved exciting progress in using the latest technologies to develop low-cost solutions for analysis of our polluted waterways. Among the programs currently underway at ORCA, http://www.oceanrecon.org/cfiles/kilroy.cfm The ORCA Kilroy™, the ORCA Fast Assessment of Sediment Toxicity (FAST™), and the ORCA Sentinel programs provide information on water characteristics and toxicity that when combined can be used to determine sources of non-point source pollution in coastal and estuary waters. In addition to coastal and estuary conservation, ORCA's Deep Sea Conservationprograms utilize current technology to provide real time and video footage of deep ocean life and conditions. The ORCA Eye In The Sea is a real-time camera system streaming continuous video to shore for months at a time while the ORCA Medusa is a deployable camera system capable of recording up to 72 hours of continuous video at depths up to 2000 meters.
