Revised Date for July ANSI Federation Meeting with ISO Secretary-General

July financial services meeting has been cancelled

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has changed the date for an upcoming town hall-style discussion for ANSI members with Rob Steele, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The meeting will now be held on Monday, July 19, 2010.

"As the U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI is pleased to offer its Federation of members this opportunity for direct interaction with ISO leadership," explained S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "This open discussion should afford an excellent environment for representatives from the U.S. public and private sectors to have their voices heard."

The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) in Arlington, VA. ANSI members are encouraged to attend this meeting and share their thoughts on key issues in international standardization with Mr. Steele.

Participation by teleconference will also be available.

A previously announced event for U.S. stakeholders in the financial services industry has been cancelled. ANSI is evaluating its coordination of broad national consultations on the ISO financial services initiative and will issue further information on www.ansi.org/news as it becomes available.

Questions about the July 19 Town Hall event can be directed to Steven P. Cornish, ANSI senior director for international policy (scornish@ansi.org; 212.642.4969).
