Original Press Release:

ANSI Launches New Sharepoint Sites for Document Access

As part of its ongoing website revitalization efforts, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has just rolled out two new SharePoint document libraries:

connect.ansi.org replaces members.ansi.org, or the “Member Document Library”

share.ansi.org replaces publicaa.ansi.org, or the “Public Document Library”

The new SharePoint sites feature significant improvements, both visual and technical. The look and feel have been modernized, and site processes operate more quickly. Behind the scenes, the sites are now more reliable, secure, manageable, adaptable, and extendable.

"This new look represents years of technical effort to bring ANSI’s SharePoint document libraries in line with member needs, and with the new look and feel that we are rolling out across all ANSI websites," said Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO. "As always, we are focused on making important capital improvements that will best serve our Federation of members and the other stakeholders who depend upon ANSI."

Users who have bookmarked folders or documents on the members.ansi.org or publicaa.ansi.org sites should be automatically redirected to the same document on the new sites. Alerts that were configured on members.ansi.org or publicaa.ansi.org will need to be reconfigured on the new sites. Permissions have been transferred over, so users will be able to see the committee and meeting documents that they are authenticated to view.

Search was a particular area of focus for improvement. Users who run a search on the public share.ansi.org platform will now be able to refine their search from the start, using a drop-down menu to select the full site, the Standards Action library, or the Patent Letter database. Once users have a set of search results, they can further refine these by date range. These improvements will make it much easier to find information, particularly within the Standards Action newsletter.

Enhancements are ongoing, and we encourage site users to share their comments and feedback.

General questions, comments, or feedback may be directed to a member of the ANSI communications and public relations team at pr@ansi.org. Specific document or folder access issues should be directed to the ANSI membership team at membership@ansi.org.
