ANSI-HSSP to host January workshop on transit security.

December 18, 2008 - On Jan 27-28, ANSI's Homeland Security Standards Panel will address standards and conformity assessment needs for public transit security, encompassing urban, suburban, and regional commuter transportation by bus, rail, and land side of urban ferry operations. Participants will work to identify existing standards, determine technological gaps that may inhibit development of standards; and analyze operational situations that may challenge use of equipment that complies with current standards.

ANSI-HSSP to Host January Workshop on Transit Security

analyze operational situations that may challenge the use of equipment that complies with current standards; and
explore the critical role of the user community in guiding the development of applicable technology and the adoption of relevant (including new or modified) standards. The two-day event will be held at the Executive Conference Center in Arlington, Virginia, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All interested parties are invited and there is no fee to participate, but advance registration is required. To register, send an email with name and contact information to HSSP@ansi.org by Monday, January 19, 2008. ANSI-HSSP is accepting sponsors for the lunch periods during both days of the workshop.
