AMCA Releases Publication 501-09 'Application Manual for Air Louvers'



Arlington Heights, IL, USA---The Air Movement and Control Association International, Inc. (AMCA International) announced the release of AMCA Publication 501-09 "Application Manual for Air Louvers." Publication 501 was adopted by the AMCA Membership February 21, 2009, and outlines the application for louvers including selection for pressure drop, air leakage water penetration, and sound reduction. This publication includes examples of louver selection, and a respective section on System Effects, which is essential when applying performance data.

Publication 501-09 provides general information and comments on factors to be considered when designing or specifying installations requiring louvers. This publication serves as a guide to common industry practices in louver construction, and mounting, including suggested fastening methods for typical structures to assist the installer.
