Call for Committee Members - AMCA to Review Standards 300, 320, 540, and 550



Arlington Heights, IL USA - The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International, Inc. is seeking volunteers to serve on the AMCA Technical Committees listed below; Individuals from the following underserved interest groups are encouraged to reply: Government Agency, Professional Agency, Trade Association, Testing Laboratory, User/Purchaser, Expert, and General Interest.

If you are interested, or know of someone that may be interested, please contact John Pakan (jpakan@amca.org) at AMCA headquarters by April 19, 2012. AMCA Standard 300, Reverberant Room Method for Sound Testing of Fans, has been recommended for revision by the Air Movement Division. This standard is used to determine airborne sound emission for fans of all types and sizes using a reverberant room. AMCA Standard 320, Laboratory Method of Sound Testing of Fans Using Sound Intensity, has been recommended for revision by the Air Movement Division. This standard establishes a method of determining the octave band sound power levels of a fan using sound intensity measurements on a measurement surface that encloses the sound source. AMCA Standard 540, Test Method for Louvers Impacted by Wind Borne Debris, has been recommended for revision by the Air Control Division. This standard provides a test method for impact testing of louvers used on the outside of buildings as required by the International Code Council (ICC) International Residential Code. AMCA Standard 550, Test Method for High Velocity Wind-Driven-Rain Resistant Louvers, has been recommended for revision by the Air Control Division. This standard provides a test method for demonstrating the suitability of louvers installed in essential and non-essential facilities where water infiltration must be kept to manageable amounts.
