Ambrell Sells EKOHEAT for Wire Heating Application
The induction system will be used to heat various size copper wires for coating curing
Scottsville, NY – Ambrell, a leading manufacturer of induction heating systems, has sold an EKOHEAT 60 kW/30 kHz induction heating system for a wire heating application. The client needed to heat various sizes of copper wire to 325 °C (617 °F) at a rate of 10 meters (32.8 feet) per minute.
The client took advantage of Ambrell’s complimentary applications laboratory service. The laboratory engineers recommended the appropriate EKOHEAT induction heating system for their temperature and time requirements. Due to the coating curing process, the client wanted a larger inside diameter to provide ample clearance.
The EKOHEAT system provides the client with a versatile method of heating an array of copper wires of various diameters within their specifications as a part of their coating curing process. The client was previously using a less powerful induction system from a different manufacturer and was only getting a run rate of 4 meters (13.1 feet) per minute.
Benefits of using induction for wire heating applications include superior repeatability, consistency and speed. Additionally, induction requires a modest footprint, so it’s easily integrated into wire heating production processes.
