AmbironTrustWave Acquires SecureTrust Corporation

Leading Data Security and Compliance Management Firm to Offer Extended Validation SSL Certificates

CHICAGO, June 6 /-- AmbironTrustWave, a leading provider of data security and compliance management solutions, is now directly issuing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates as a result of the company's acquisition of certificate authority, SecureTrust Corporation. The acquisition closed effective immediately and the terms of the acquisition are private and will not be disclosed.

"With the growing threats from phishing and other online scams, our SSL product suite is the right mix for organizations seeking to increase consumer confidence in their web presence. Merchants who deploy Extended Validation certificates are providing consumers the highest possible assurance of their online presence," said Robert J. McCullen, Chairman and CEO of AmbironTrustWave. "In addition, the Extended Validation SSL certificate is another tool acquiring banks can offer merchants to reduce exposure to fraud."

AmbironTrustWave SSL certificates all use 256-Bit encryption -- the strongest commercially available encryption standard -- which exceeds the minimum standard for encryption established within the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard's (PCI DSS) requirement of 128-Bit encryption (Requirement #4). In addition, for organizations using 128 or 40-Bit encryption, AmbironTrustWave's certificates have backward compatibility. The company's current SSL certificate offerings include:

o Extended Validation SSL Certificates -- The highest level of security
possible for a web site is the Extended Validation (EV) certificate,
which features a green address bar within a web browser. The green
address bar designates the web site as authentic and provides consumers
with the ultimate assurance. EV certificates are the most effective
protection against pervasive online scams such as phishing.
o Premium SSL Certificates -- The premium certificate is in use by
thousands of businesses and government agencies worldwide. It is for
use on websites, mail servers, and intranets.
o Wildcard SSL Certificates -- Ideal for organizations to secure
unlimited sub-domains for web-mail, intranet, customer portal and
control panel with a single certificate.
o S/MIME E-Mail Digital ID's -- Enables an organization to secure email
by encrypting message contents and attachments. These digital IDs serve
as email source verification to prevent phishing scams.

"We have had the opportunity to work with both companies individually in the past, and we are very excited to see the two companies come together. The combination of AmbironTrustWave and SecureTrust creates a security solutions powerhouse that can help merchants meet all their security needs. For example, to protect our business from the latest in online scams, such as phishing, and to comply with key industry regulations for securing credit card data, we will look to AmbironTrustWave to provide us with Extended Validation SSL certificates and the resources necessary to maintain compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard," said Richard Knott, Vice President, IDM Computer Solutions, Inc.

Established in 2001, SecureTrust was the first certificate authority to offer 256-bit SSL certificates and Extended Validation certificates. SecureTrust is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has earned the AICPA/CICA WebTrust Seal of Assurance for Certificate Authorities for three years in a row.

Scott Harris, Founder and President of SecureTrust, said "The acquisition of SecureTrust enables AmbironTrustWave to provide the next generation of SSL -- the Extended Validation certificate -- to thousands of businesses and organizations that leverage the internet to conduct commerce. Equally important is that our legacy customer base will be well served by the wide range of AmbironTrustWave solutions including compliance management solutions for the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard."
