Altorfer, Inc. Adds mojoRTK to Agricultural Product Line

DENVER, Dec. 21 -- Altorfer, Inc. today announced that it will be the first dealer in Illinois to carry the new No Drift(TM) mojoRTK Auto-steer by Leica Geosystems. The new mojoRTK is the first auto-steer system that allows farmers to buy a basic system and then upgrade only the features they need, creating a completely customized system at an affordable price.

In addition to the basic system, Altorfer is the first dealer in Illinois to offer customized upgrades, including the addition of GLONASS satellites, 8- and 16-mile range upgrades, survey grade elevation and other add-ons for the mojoRTK.

Altorfer, Inc. will also join Leica Geosystems as a pioneer in virtual service and support with Virtual Wrench(TM) - the agriculture industry's first real-time, virtual service, support and diagnostic tool. With the use of Virtual Wrench, Altorfer technicians will have the ability to support the mojoRTK system in the field with remote technicians. With one touch of a button, farmers can connect to technicians who can view and adjust settings in the cab. They can see exactly what the farmer is viewing, and even "push" the buttons to make adjustments remotely.

"The ability to offer our customers a complete solution that works seamlessly with their equipment at an extremely competitive price was an easy decision for us," said Pat Puntoni, Altorfer general manager. "We are always looking for innovative new ways to meet our customers' needs."

"One advantage is the system installs so neatly and easily, making the installation virtually seamless" added Kenny Sutton, technology manager at Altorfer. "Plus, there's no cab clutter to deal with because there are no external monitors. The console just slides into the radio slot, you plug in a few cables and you're done."

"We are extremely excited to be working with Altorfer - a leader in agricultural systems," said Trevor Mecham, Leica Geosystems North American business manager. "In fact, only our exclusive network of premium resellers like Altorfer will be able to sell upgrades and service their customer base directly with Virtual Wrench technology."

Leica has capitalized on its 180-year history in the survey, construction and mining industries to provide innovative new technologies like the mojoRTK Auto-steer platform, which fits neatly in the radio slot of the tractor, and Virtual Wrench(TM) a revolutionary support and diagnostic system that allows technicians to remotely service ag electronics in real time.

Altorfer, Inc.

Altorfer Machinery Company was founded on February 4th, 1957 by the late Edward J. Altorfer. Ed had previously worked in the family washing machine business, called Altorfer Brothers Company, in East Peoria, IL. He was introduced to the Caterpillar business by his good friend, Buck Swords, who at that time owned Peoria Tractor and Equipment Company, the Caterpillar dealer in Peoria.

Altorfer, Inc. formed a separate ag division in 1993 and has grown to more than 73 people who are 100 percent dedicated to the agriculture business. As one of the largest farm equipment dealers in the Mid West, Altorfer is a full-service Caterpillar, Challenger, LEXION and Ag Chem dealer.

Altorfer takes a lot of pride in its organization and the products it offers, but ultimately, they exist to serve their customers. Every member of the team works together to meet customers' equipment-related needs, by taking a 'can do' attitude and seeing it through until it's done. At Altorfer, they stand by their products and workmanship, and above all else, they "tell it like it is."
