Statement by AIA President & CEO Marion C. Blakey

Arlington, Va. - Passage of the bipartisan Export-Import Bank Reauthorization by the Senate this afternoon is a very welcome development. The bank has been a revenue generator for the U.S. government and levels the playing field for U.S. exporters. A three-year reauthorization and extended lending authority of $140 billion is particularly helpful to small- and medium-sized manufacturers who need to boost their exports to offset shrinking federal budgets. We strongly urge President Obama to sign the bill into law.
