AgustaWestland Selects Goodrich Rescue Hoist for Swiss Mountain Rescue Bases

CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 17 - (Paris Air Show) - AgustaWestland has selected Goodrich Corporation (NYSE:GR) to supply the rescue hoists for the Swiss Air-Rescue REGA Grand helicopter fleet to be used at mountain rescue bases located throughout Switzerland.

Under the terms of the contract, Goodrich's hoist and winch team, headquartered in Diamond Bar, Calif., will provide externally-mounted, DC electric rescue hoist systems and support structures with deliveries beginning in 2008.

According to Bob Strickland, European Business Development Manager for Goodrich's hoist and winch team, "We are delighted to be chosen as AgustaWestland's rescue hoist supplier for these helicopters. We will ultimately be providing the Swiss Air-Rescue team with the latest technological advancements and performance. Our system offers improvements over traditional technology such as: cable offset detection; higher electromagnetic interference standards; and a fast rope attachment which can be used in insertion and extraction operations. We will also be providing our industry unique, Category One translating drum technology for this state-of- the-art search and rescue helicopter fleet."

Goodrich's hoist and winch team produces both traditional level wind and industry-unique translating drum cable management systems. Because the mission capabilities of the design concepts are so unique, Goodrich distinguishes between the technologies by category distinctions - translating drum as Category One and the traditional level wind as Category Two. Goodrich is the only manufacturer of the Category One technology in the world.

Goodrich Corporation's hoist and winch team has two locations, Diamond Bar, Calif. and St. Ouen l'Aumone, France, producing a complete line of external and internal rescue hoists and cargo winches. The hoist and winch team is part of Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems division.
