Agie US Showcases New Agiecut Attak(TM) at IMTS, Targets Medical and General Engineering Applications

Chicago, IL - Attacking a market segment where its wire-cut EDMs have traditionally been at a significant price disadvantage when compared to Japanese brands, Agie US has introduced a new model that the company has aggressively positioned as the Agiecut Attak(TM). The new Attak is built entirely in Switzerland, exclusively for the North American market. Featured in the company's Frontier in Medical Manufacturing zone (booth D-4101) at IMTS, the system is tailor-made and fully optioned to handle applications within its targeted market - medical and general engineering.

"We decided on the name 'Attak' for two reasons," says Agie US Executive VP Glynn Fletcher. "First and most obvious, we do plan to pursue applications in medical parts production and general engineering with a much more concentrated intensity than we have heretofore.

"But the 'tak' also alludes to the similar term 'takt' that is an essential metric in lean manufacturing as it relates to processing time. Simply put, this machine is equipped to produce more parts to required tolerances, in less time, and at the lowest operating cost in the industry."

Though it will become the lowest priced model in the Agie line-up, the Agiecut Attak is far from being a stripped down machine, Fletcher points out. "All the Agie Exclusives that will contribute to success in its production role have been included as standard on the Attak," he notes. In fact, no options are available. "What we have done," Fletcher adds, "with the unflinching cooperation of the factory in Switzerland, is produce a machine that is uniquely fit to its intended applications. When the market sees and evaluates the Attak, we are confident it will agree."
