The American Filtration & Separations Society is hosting its 4th Bi-Annual Emissions Solutions in Transportation Conference in Ann Arbor, MI, October 6-8, 2009. The only Transportation Conference in North America with its focus on filtration technology in emission control.

Highlighting the Conference are a number of well-known industry supplier, regulatory, advisory and OEM plenary, luncheon and banquet speakers.

o Dr. Dennis Assanis, University of Michigan, Director, W.E. Lay Automotive Laboratory will be the Wednesday luncheon keynoter addressing the subject of Recent Achievements in Engine Design.

o Cleophas Jackson, Assistant EPA Director for the Compliance and Innovative Strategies Division in EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality. As the lead-off plenary speaker Mr. Jackson will discuss the impact of Future Engine Emission Regulations

o Ken Howden, U.S. Department of Energy, is the Tuesday luncheon keynote speaker and will provide insight into the U.S. Governments activities in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

o Dr. David Cole, Chairman, Center for Automotive Research the keynote gala banquet speaker Tuesday evening and will speak to the topic of concern to everyone; The Future of the Automotive Industry

o Charlie Freese, Executive Director, General Motors Powertrain Engineering, our banquet speaker two years ago, will provide plenary speaker insight and background on the subject of Energy Efficient, Low Emission Powertrain Systems.

o Kevin W. Westerson, Director RT&E, Cummins Filtration will be the concluding plenary speaker Thursday and address issues relating to Advances in Diesel Emission Control Technology

The audience will consist of senior executives, business, technical and research managers from OEM's, industry suppliers, filtration and separations companies, all with the objective to understand current industry needs and to identify future opportunities.
