An independent auditing firm certified that Acromag's processes are compliant with requirements of the aerospace industry's AS9100 quality management standard which fully incorporates ISO9001 standards.

Wixom, MI: Acromag recently announced that their Quality Management System has been certified as compliant with the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 and the additional regulations of the aerospace industry's AS9100 standard. This achievement was a direct result of the entire organization working together in effectively developing and maintaining the Quality Management System in order to be certified. Meeting the ever-growing customer demand for the highest level of quality is vital to the future success of companies in any kind of business. Acromag has demonstrated their commitment to the continuous improvement of their management system by successfully achieving certification.

Bureau Veritas Certification has been chosen as Acromag's partner in this process. Bureau Veritas Certification has certified over 70,000 companies around the world and stresses the need for continuous improvement as well as their commitment to adding value throughout the process.

AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. It was introduced by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in the Americas and the European Association of Aerospace Industries in Europe in October 1999. The International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) composed the AS9100 document which defines requirements for the Quality Management System Standard. AS9100 fully incorporates the entirety of the current version of ISO 9001:2000 along with 80 additional requirements critical to aerospace quality.

ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest developer and publisher of International Standards. ISO 9001:2000 is the standard that provides a set of standardized requirements for a quality management system.

The AS9100 and ISO9001 criteria are basics of good business practice. Meeting the criteria involves setting quality goals, ensuring customer requirements are met, training employees, controlling production processes, purchasing from suppliers of quality products, and correcting problems to make sure they do not happen again.

When AS9100 is implemented in an organization:

o Well defined and documented procedures improve the consistency of output
o Quality is constantly measured
o Procedures ensure corrective action is taken whenever defects occur
o Defect rates decrease and defects are caught earlier
o Defining procedures identifies obsolete or inefficient practices
o Documented procedures are easier for new employees to follow
