AASHTO Asks Public to Cast Votes for the Best Transportation Photos



Cash Prize at Stake in Ninth Annual National Faces of Transportation Photo Contest



WASHINGTON - The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials is today opening its ninth annual Faces of Transportation photography contest to online voting.



The general public is encouraged to select their favorite photograph from among 121 images being judged in three categories: "Building the Future," "Opening Communities," and "Taking the Road Less Traveled." Each photograph represents the positive effects of transportation on individuals and/or communities.



The online voting starts today and runs through Sept. 20. The photograph receiving the highest number of online votes will receive the People's Choice Award, and a $500 cash prize will be awarded to the photographer.



The People's Choice Award winner and the recipient of this year's Faces of Transportation Grand Prize Award will be announced on Sept. 25.
