Alliance for American Manufacturing Joins Manufacturing DaySM as a Gold Sponsor

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) has joined Manufacturing DaySM 2015 as a Gold Sponsor, supplying the national initiative with resources to support manufacturers participating in the program.  This is the third year that AAM has been a Gold Sponsor of the program.  Manufacturing Day is a grassroots effort by American manufacturers to improve public perception of manufacturing by coordinating awareness-raising activities at a variety of locations across the country on October 2, 2015.

“The Manufacturing Day co-producers are thrilled to have the support of Gold Sponsor, AAM, for the third straight year,” said Ed Youdell, president and CEO of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International. (FMA). “Their grass-roots advocacy program has helped to make ‘Made in America’ a viable part of the political conversation again and matches up perfectly with the mission of Manufacturing Day. We value their continued support. Their willingness to endorse the Manufacturing Day story is critical to the continued growth of events across the country.”

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event that brings together thousands of manufacturers to host students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers. Last year more than 1,650 events attracted over 350,000 participants.  A panel of co-producers comprised of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International (FMA), the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the Manufacturing Institute (MI), the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), and guest producer Industrial Strength Marketing (ISM) provides the centralized support necessary to coordinate this nationwide array of simultaneous events. The Science Channel and Edge Factor are the event’s media partners and American Made Movie is its movie partner.

“We’re honored to be a part of Manufacturing Day and look forward to helping make it a success,” said Scott Paul, president of AAM. “An innovative and growing manufacturing base is vital to America’s economic and national security, as well as to providing good jobs for future generations.”
