A Sticky ESD Solution

Tackmats, Tacky Mats or Adhesive Mats are a staple in the cleanroom, ESD and paint application industries.  They allow safe passage into a clean area, cleaning particles and debris off of shoes prior to entry into the controlled areas.  The problem is that they also carry ESD charge with them and on them.

PureStat with its unique permanently anti-static Blac-Stat™ product is working with a local Maine company to resolve this issue.  PureStat’s new partner had previously had problems with trying to produce conductive ESD Adhesive mats because of the cleanliness issue of the standard conductive black films produced elsewhere, the inconsistent ESD readings (varying from conductive to insulative) and most importantly by the film not having the ability to have a differential release.

Purestat, by using their proprietary process is able to lock the carbon black into the plastic film, eliminating the typical issue with conductive carbon products, namely that they are dirty (sloughing carbon).  The Blac-Stat™ film is clean and easy to work with, not contaminating production equipment or the clean areas that the mats will be used in.   PureStat’s stringent quality controls and knowledge base combine to make it the leader in the production of conductive films.  Blac-Stat™ is manufactured with consistent and conductive ESD values.   Finally, Purestat is able to design the Blac-Stat™ film so that it has the differential release qualities required to make a two-sided adhesive mat product.

Experience, engineering expertise and consistent ESD quality control all combine to be able to provide a stable, workable solution to a pressing ESD problem.
