ZPower Vice President of Product Development to Speak at Lux Executive Summit

CAMARILLO, October 14, 2008 - ZPower, Inc., a leading global provider of the first silver-zinc, rechargeable battery technology for consumer electronic devices, has announced that company Vice President of Product Development, Dr. George Adamson, will discuss the benefits of silver-zinc battery technology at the Lux Executive Summit in Cambridge, MA on October 21st.

The Summit is being held at The Charles Hotel and runs from October 19-21. It brings together corporate executives, start-up CEOs, and financial and academic leaders to discuss science-driven innovation. Topics to be discussed include: renewable energy, enabling clean transportation and delivering pure water.

"The Lux Summit provides a valuable opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with some of the top scientific innovators today," explained Dr. Adamson. "I'm eager to learn more about other recent developments and explain to others what ZPower has accomplished over this past year."

A silver-zinc battery option will be rolled out in a major notebook computer in 2009.

ZPower's new silver-zinc battery chemistry uses the latest in advanced polymers, nano-technology, power electronics and processing methods to create a battery that surpasses other rechargeable batteries for notebook computers, mobile phone and consumer electronics applications.

The advantages of silver-zinc batteries can be summed up as follows:

High Performance - Up to 40% more run time than traditional lithium-ion batteries. And with recent improvements in battery cycle life, silver-zinc batteries achieve 200 + cycles at 100% discharge and thousands of cycles at intermediate discharge.

Clean Technology - Over 95% of key battery elements can be recycled and reused. The raw materials recovered in the recycling process of silver-zinc batteries are the same quality as those that went into the creation of the battery. Environmental impact is lessened since the need to mine for new materials is minimized.

Safe - Silver-zinc batteries contain no lithium and are inherently safe. They are not subject to the recent FAA air travel restrictions now placed on lithium-ion batteries. Silver-zinc batteries feature a water-based chemistry that is not flammable. The battery is therefore free from the problems of thermal runaway and fire.

ZPower was selected in September 2007 by AlwaysOn as one of the "GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies" in the Energy Storage category for 2007. ZPower was recognized for its achievements in battery materials recycling.

Prior to joining ZPower, Dr. Adamson was the head of Virtic, LLC, where he directed the company's contract engineering and scientific consulting services. He was also the vice president of research and development at Valence Technology Corporation, a firm developing and manufacturing lithium polymer batteries, where he was responsible for setting the company's strategy for its intellectual property portfolio and launched the company's first three mass-produced product lines. Prior to Valence, Dr. Adamson was the senior research scientist for Zinc Air Power Corporation, a start-up company developing a commercial electric vehicle battery. In this position, Dr. Adamson directed an electrochemical research and catalyst testing program to develop a commercial bi-function air cathode. Dr. Adamson is the holder of three U.S. patents, with seven additional under application. He has been published extensively, in such journals as Journal of Power Sources, Chemistry of Materials, Electrochemical and Solid-State Letters, Journal of Chemical Physics and Journal of Molecular Spectroscopy.
