Angers, France - Evolis, a leading supplier of solutions for plastic card personalization, announces the launch of ZENIUS, the next-generation card printer, extremely flexible and strongly focused on the user.
With its new ZENIUS card printer, Evolis takes instant card issuance to a new level by offering a singlesided color printer that is compact, modular, easy-to-use, and delivers superior print quality.
With ZENIUS, Evolis has completely redesigned its printing engine and overall environment with a brand new design, a new software architecture and enhanced consumables. With these innovations, printing cards and badges is made ever simpler to serve a large variety of applications: employee IDs, loyalty cards, student IDs, payment cards, transportation passes, and more.
ZENIUS: performance, innovation and eco-design
The new Evolis Premium Suite® software architecture includes a configuration and printing manager that streamlines and improves all communications between the printer and the user. The printer can be entirely monitored directly from the user's interface through pop-up notifications that provide information on the printer's status.
The Evolis High Trust® range of consumables has been designed to enhance graphic performances and simplify routine tasks. For easy handling, the new ribbons are supplied in a cassette that houses a RFID chip. This helps the printer identify the ribbon type and configure all settings accordingly.
Compact and silent (46 decibels only!), ZENIUS will fit effortlessly in any environment, be it a welcome desk, a sales counter, or an office desk.
ZENIUS stands out as the first eco-designed printer and uses recycled material that can, in turn, be recycled. The printer is also a low-energy system as it complies with the stringent ErP European directive. "These key steps towards supporting environmental standards and guidelines have been achieved with no impact whatsoever on what remain our top priorities at Evolis: quality andreliability," said Christophe Peraudeau, Product Manager, Evolis.
ZENIUS is today available in its Classic version. An Expert version will be available end of 2011, offering the capacity to combine multiple encoders within a single system. This wide array of encodingoptions will allow the personalization of technology cards, from tamperproof access control badges to payment cards.
