Yankee Group Grows with Two Executive Hires


BOSTON -- Yankee Group today announced the appointments of Jason Shore as the new chief financial officer and John Jacobs as the senior vice president of marketing and product management. As Yankee Group continues to define the opportunities and challenges associated with ubiquitous connectivity, the additions of new executive talents such as Shore and Jacobs will play an integral role in the company as it helps builders, operators and users of connectivity solutions navigate the global connectivity revolution.

Jason Shore, CFO

As the newly appointed CFO, Shore is responsible for all aspects of Yankee Group's financial organization as well as overseeing direct operation of the company's information technology, internal controls and human resources. Shore is an international corporate finance executive with broad financial experience in marketing, sales and supply chain as well as traditional finance such as accounting and treasury.

Prior to Yankee Group, Shore was the co-CEO and CFO of Pharmedica Communications, a medical education company, where he led its turnaround and sale in June 2006. Prior to Pharmedica, Shore served as CFO of a start-up company, SBX Management, working to create a stock exchange for small businesses. The bulk of his extensive financial experience has been with various divisions of Unilever, N.V., in the United States and Israel.

John Jacobs, SVP of Marketing and Product Management

As the senior vice president of marketing and product management, Jacobs assumes responsibility for Yankee Group's global marketing and product management groups including the processes of product development and deployment. Prior to Yankee Group, Jacobs served as the head of marketing & business development of ITU (International Telecommunication Union) Telecom at its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. During his tenure at the UN agency, Jacobs devised the product and marketing strategies of the world's leading portfolio of ICT (Information and Communications Technology) events. Prior to his work at ITU, Jacobs served in various marketing management roles at MCI Communications, including as director of marketing of wireless and prepaid services.

These appointments complement two other recent changes to the management team. Eileen Eastman, a communications technology and market research leader who has been with Yankee Group for more than eight years, is charged with leading Yankee Group's research professionals as the chief research officer. Additionally, with Yankee Group's recent acquisition of Trendsmedia, Inc., Eliot Weinman, an industry veteran who has a long track record of successfully building events and publishing businesses, has assumed the role of president of the Yankee Group Events & Publishing Division, a newly created position.
