Presentations

How to Design a Xilinx Solution for PCI Express with DMA Engine - Learn how to quickly design a high performance Virtex(TM)-5 FPGA application with a PCI Express® end-point block. Get a complete DMA example design including software and FPGA logic source code, as a freeware, for both Spartan(TM) and Virtex FPGA families.

Low-Cost to High-Performance Memory Interface Design Made Easy with Xilinx Virtex and Spartan FPGAs - A tutorial on how to address various memory interface design challenges ranging from low-cost implementations to high- bandwidth and short-latency memory controllers - including tips and tricks for using Xilinx® software and hardware verification tools to shorten the design cycle.

DSP Design Automation using Xilinx FPGAs - This session will highlight the advantage of using Xilinx silicon and software solutions to reduce DSP development cycle time, specifically for defense-related applications.

The Technology Behind the Lowest Power Consumption Solutions from Xilinx - Power consumption is becoming the number one concern for many applications. This session will highlight the low-power advantages of designing with Xilinx Spartan-3 generation and 65nm Virtex-5 FPGAs over competing FPGAs.

Design Security Features of Xilinx Spartan-3 Generation FPGAs - Learn how to leverage the unique DeviceDNA design security features of the low-cost Spartan-3 generation FPGA family to protect products and profits from the increased prevalence of counterfeiting in the semiconductor electronics industry.

Running Real-Time Linux on Xilinx MicroBlaze Embedded Processor - A discussion of how to use MicroBlaze(TM) processors with Xilinx EDK 9.2i tools to design high performance systems. Real-world customer designs can now include MicroBlaze processors with memory management unit to enable use of the Linux operating system. EDK 9.2i tools support MPMC3, TEMAC and PCIe hard and soft blocks, and USB.

Model-Based Design with The MathWorks Simulink® software and Xilinx System Generator - A design methodology that will reduce the design cycle from months to weeks for engineers building video, communications and control systems using Xilinx FPGAs.

A Total FPGA Design Solution from Mentor Graphics - Learn how the Mentor Graphics ModelSim(TM) design environment, Precision Synthesis and ModelSim significantly improve FPGA-based design efficiency. Among the topics covered in this tutorial automatic data exchange, debugging, IP core generation and embedding, data management, automatic link of PCB board and seamless integration with Xilinx FPGAs.

Xilinx Solutions for Broadcast - Learn more about solutions for audio, video and broadcast, including connectivity, video-over-IP networks, video processing and CODEC. Get an in-depth introduction to the advanced video development platform (AVDP) from Xilinx - based on the PCI Express endpoint block embedded in Xilinx® Virtex(TM)-5 LXT and SXT FPGAs - for designs ranging from post-production equipment, video servers, and encoders to broadcast monitors.

Xilinx Solutions for Medical Imaging - An overview of high-end medical imaging solutions from Xilinx ideally suited for a variety of end applications, such as CT scanners, endoscopes and portable ultrasound systems. Learn how Virtex-5 FPGAs deliver a balance of DSP processing power, high-speed connectivity and internal memory to meet designer demand for superior video processing and high-definition video quality.

Xilinx Solutions for Video Surveillance - An overview of FPGA-based IP solutions for surveillance cameras and DVR applications that offer designers unparalleled flexibility, cost savings, time-to-market and competitive differentiation. For surveillance camera applications, learn how WDR (wide dynamic range) and 3D noise reduction solutions can be implemented in low cost Spartan-3 DSP devices for both CCD and CMOS sensors. For PC-based DVR and video image processing applications (i.e. video scalar, de-interlace, multi- channels multiplexer and H.264 Codec), learn how to take advantage of off-the- shelf PCI(TM) and PCIe® technology solutions for Spartan devices.

Xilinx Solutions for Smart Handhelds - An overview of CPLD-based solutions for smart handheld designs (e.g., smart phones, portable navigation devices, portable media players). In-depth low power Coolrunner(TM)-II CPLD reference designs based on Marvell and TI OMAP platforms, which enhance the I/O peripherals capabilities (i.e. I/O speed acceleration, expansion, interface conversion and voltage translations). The advantages of CPLD implementation are low power, small form factor, added value and shortened design cycle time.
