Press release date: March 23, 2011

o XKL Launches two new DarkStar DWDM products, DXM10-4 and DXM10-2
o XKL's DXM10-4 and DXM10-2 systems allows businesses with enterprise networking needs the opportunity to leverage these two or four port configurations to achieve higher bandwidth
o DarkStar products can interconnect and achieve end-to-end optical transport delivery while decreasing latency across a network

Kirkland, WA - XKL, LLC, a leading-edge provider of enterprise fiber optic networking equipment, announces the launch of two new DarkStar DWDM products. The DXM10-4 and DXM10-2 are fully integrated, robust, compact optical transport systems that provide businesses a flexible and cost-effective solution for lighting dark fiber.

Until now, dark fiber has been a solution sought by large businesses that want to cost-effectively manage their bandwidth needs. With XKL's DXM10-4 and DXM10-2 systems, any business with enterprise networking needs can leverage these two or four port configurations to achieve greater bandwidth efficiencies. Either of these systems can be used as a 'starter' device that enables companies to take advantage of dark fiber. XKL's DXM systems use optical technology to create efficient, robust and flexible transport systems that can be deployed in metro, regional and long distance networks. These new, smaller devices lower the barriers of entry to the market, while creating a more flexible solution that can serve companies in additional locations across their networks.

"Dark fiber is only as important as a company's ability to use it. Our DXM10-4 and DXM10-2 provide a plug and play solution for lighting dark fiber, without the capital expenditure commonly associated with the cost of large bandwidth project commitments," states Len Bosack, CEO of XKL. "We have designed a solution that fits the needs of smaller projects with enterprises, carriers, ISP's and more. These lower port count systems offer flexible network extension opportunities for using dark fiber assets, that up until now have not been available in a system-engineered component."

XKL's DarkStar® products are Optical Transport Systems that can be deployed in metro, regional and long distance networks. These systems, often requiring the ability to interconnect, can achieve end-to-end optical transport delivery. DarkStar products are designed for ease-of-use while decreasing latency across a network.
